Addiction Treatment

Jericho Road provides a men’s 9-month residential addiction recovery program, based on 12-Step models of recovery. This includes connection to ourselves, community and the God of our own understanding. Our residential program gives men that needed time and support to walk through this journey.

We want to see people move from discouragement to hope. Jericho Road provides space for clients to gain purpose and connection with themselves and their community, while offering support in times of relapse and crisis. Daily structure and discipline help men overcome the chaotic routine of addiction and build a new foundation with tools to meet everyday challenges.

The Discipleship House

Residents are provided a safe and encouraging environment to once again face the world, with their heads held high. Finding their needs for home, community, health and purpose being fulfilled, they can in turn pass their experience, strength and hope onto others.

Building a new foundation in life, our residents follow a daily structure which will help them grow out of their old ways of thinking and reacting, into a new life of honesty, open-mindedness and willingness. Jericho Road strongly believes that the opposite of addiction is connection.

We teach abstinence based recovery, while cultivating strength through community.

FAQ

Can I take medication at Jericho Road?
We do allow prescribed medications while in the program provided they are not addictive. Because Jericho Road isn’t a medical facility, it is our policy to disallow anything that could cause harm to oneself or to others if it were to be abused. As such we do not allow addictive medications even if prescribed by a doctor. These include but are not limited to: narcotics, benzodiazepines, Amphetamine-based ADHD medications, methadone and suboxone.

Can I come if I’m on bail/probation/parole?
We can accept most people, even if they have dealt with legal issues in the past. We request that applicants send us a copy of their conditions so that we can best determine if their situation will align with our program. We are unable to accept applicants who are on the national sexual offenders registry or the violent offenders registry because it falls outside our insurance coverage. Regardless of their conditions, we do withhold the right to ask anyone to leave if they are unable to adhere to our rules and guidelines.

Can I see a doctor while in the program?
All health care visits including doctors, dentists and optometrists, can be scheduled through the office by submitting permission slips. These appointments will be scheduled outside of program time and in consultation with the program directors. If you’re coming from out of town, we recommend that you bring a copy of your medical records and provincial health care card with you if possible. This will allow local doctors to continue your care without interruption.

How long is the waitlist?
Wait times may vary based on the timing of your application, the volume of applicants, and program availability. To help us maintain an accurate understanding of your current situation, we ask that you provide bi-weekly updates confirming your continued interest in the program or outlining any alternative recovery plans you may be pursuing.

What if my family wants help as well?
Our Family Support Program is open to family members and friends of individuals in our program, those on our waitlist, and anyone supporting a loved one with a substance use disorder.

An email outlining the Family Support program will be sent to the person listed as the Family Support contact on your application. Additional contact information can be found on our website.

What if I don’t believe in God?
Jericho Road recognizes that each person is at a different stage in their faith journey. We view substance use disorders as a spiritual malady and as a 12-step faith-based ministry, our goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where individuals are encouraged to ask questions and explore their faith.

Do I have to go to detox?
Yes. Jericho Road does not provide detox services, and a minimum 3 day stay at a detox facility is required before admittance.

Do you provide aftercare?
Yes. Jericho Road provides Continuing Care residences to graduates of our program. To learn more, please follow this link.

How much does the program cost?
Cost is geared to income. No one is turned away based on financial factors. We are not covered by OHIP.
